Catherine Hickem graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Counseling and a Master of Science in Clinical Social Work. Catherine is a licensed psychotherapist and a member of NASW. She is also a graduate of Coach U and is a credentialed member of the International Coach Federation. She is a certified in Daring Way and Dare to Lead, Brene’ Brown’s work on shame and vulnerability. She also holds certifications in six other assessments.
For the first 25 years of her career, Catherine was a practicing psychotherapist whose heart was drawn toward parents. She spent many years training, speaking, and leading parents to be intentional with their relationship with their children. She wrote Regret Free Parenting in 2009 and Heaven in Her Arms in 2012. Catherine also created a video discipleship series for moms called Enriching the Heart. During that same time, Catherine began the journey of translating her skills and knowledge of families to the corporate world. She went back to school and became an executive coach. In 2005, she formed The Dash Group, a company that specializes in human capital, organizational health and executive development. The name of the company is taken from the symbol between the day you are born and the day you die. In parenting or in business, Catherine has felt her purpose has been to help people see they will leave a legacy within their families or in their workplace. Her heart is to help them be intentional in whatever arena she is privileged to meet them.
While Catherine has primarily been in the corporate world for the last 16 years, her heart has never left her passion to help parents. She is currently developing new doors in the arena of parenting adult children. Most people will parent adult children longer than 18 years but so little is discussed on this topic. Catherine has spent the last 18 years experiencing the challenging but meaningful role connected to her two adult children and discovered many insights from her journey as well as from the parents of adult children she has coached.
Are you ready to get on the path to leaving a legacy your children will want to pass onto the next generation...
